This should clear that up:
As posted by Jude:
Quote:
Please stop with the in-thread discussions in the Gear For Sale / Trade forum. Any discussions within sale/trade threads should be related directly to the transaction, and nothing more or less.
If you're not interested in buying or trading the item(s) in the thread, then don't post. If you're wondering whether or not you should post a comment or opinion in a sale/trade thread, you probably should not. If you want to know why a person is selling something, PM (private message) or e-mail them. If you think a sale is crooked or smells funny, report it.
Thanks.

x2. My opinion of him dropped during his difference between lossless vs 320aac rant a year or so ago.
As for the current situation, I still think the FS forums are a great place to buy and sell gear. Sure, there are scammers, but like many people have said, you can steer clear of them with a little common sense. Listen to that voice inside you when dealing with people on the FS forum. If it's telling you to walk away from buying or selling, then do it. You'll be better for it in the end.

You seem to be under the impression that people actually read stickies. For shame.

The easiest way to contact a mod is to report a post. If you look at the bottom left of a post, you'll see an icon with two exclamation marks (!!). Just click on this and you'll be taken to a screen where you can describe why you are reporting the post. After doing so and clicking on the submit icon, the post is reported to the mods. If necessary, make a post and report it. Larry could have reported his original post in the thread.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people don't really know the features of the forum.

Whether or not we want to admit it, our online personas are reflections of the type of person we are in reality.
A discerning mind should be able to sort out the bad-crazies from the fun-crazies (we're all crazies here to an extent).

Oh snap, I guess I might be a sketchball too.

Applications for membership will now be required. Forms wills be filled out in triplicate and mailed to the Mods, and applicants will be submitted to a full background check.

Raise the requirement and be active about reporting scams.
But I mean, you can easily avoid scammers here with some common sense.

I know how to fix the selling and buying problem. Share everything within a selected group of members. It's already happening but people don't know about it because all the members in the group whisper too quietly for others to hear. The group is so extreme that people don't believe it exists, I'm confused as well, but sometimes I can hear quiet whispers while I sleep.

Ok. I was in a similar situation where the buyer sold an item which he got from me in less than a week with more than what I asked from him and then when I posted the story in another thread, numerous people all told me that it's not the sellers fault but rather mine. But here people are saying we should ban sellers like that? Which is right? I'm confussed.

Not knowing your situation a few things come to mind
* this user has multiple accounts and appears to use them to manipulate pricing with false offers
* There are several active items currently that are being flipped not just one
* Items were purchased low and then immediately offered at higher price.
That said all transactions seemed to have gone without a hitch and this does not appear to be a scam in the theft sort of sense more market manipulation than anything else.

But what does it matter what the seller does if he paid for the item in no fouled way and he has the right for that item at the time of sale?
I'm not trying to defend the seller here, I'm just being devil's advocate.

This is pretty low. I want to sell my SR-80's on the forum, but if they raise the post count or time again I won't be able to. And, I don't feel it is right to simply spam my way up. I'm so close as it is!
