Well, count me in as disappointed over the word concerning The Other Boleyn Sister. I love a good costume drama, but can't say it's that surprising considering the leads and time of release.

The Darjeeling limited (4/10) is a Wes Anderson film.

No Country For Old Men - 5/5 - This being a McCarthy/Coens joint I'm probably biased, but this film played out like Blood Simple with cooler guns, more violence, and larger characters in a richer setting.
Juno - 2.5/5 - I had a really hard time getting passed the tone with which the "youth" dialog was presented, which was almost tongue-in-cheek, as if for an older audience that would find that kind of language humorous because it wouldn't quite understand it. The delivery felt similar to how a soccer mom might use her daughter's language, and it smacked of inauthenticity. I found myself interested in the dynamic between Bateman's character, his wife and Juno, but the relationship between Cera (who was fantastic in Arrested Development) and Juno was positively boring. Any interesting areas the movie explored were done better in HBO's Tell Me You Love Me. I give Juno an extra half star because Olivia Thirlby was fun to look at.

The Manchurian Candidate (Denzel Washington version): 4/10. Definitely not Zel's best work. Predictable, couldn't keep me interested.

The Orphanage (foreign) 7/10
Cliche horror, but it works. Lacks nudity.

For me the technical/continuity issues as you called them made the movie lose 3 full points. I'm definitely going to read the book though. From the movie I suspected that some of the book's story lines might have been either abandoned or modified in possibly inconvenient/unfortunate ways.

Into the Blue - 0/(n>0)
Been done before, not done well here. Making sure as many shots as possible follow thin bikinis does not turn it from bad to good. All the performances but Ashley Scott's were stiff and apathetic. I didn't finish watching it.
Tempo - 5/10
The definition of average. Good performances all around, but you can only do so much with a script that can't use what you've got. As an aside, why can't famous actresses leave themselves well enough alone? Melanie Griffith looks outstanding for here age, here, and while she should have been thanking good genes, good living, and people she's paid over the years to keep her in good shape, she started messing with it, and looks terrible, now.
Pitch Black - 20 menthol Kools
How I've missed this one on cable, I do not know. There are clear areas where a better CGI team, and better budgets, could help, but they didn't really get in the way. This is a great example of plain old good execution of a vision. It really draws you in, makes you feel for the characters, and want at least a couple to come out alive that didn't (a few got what they deserved, too).
Swimming Pool - 10/10
Get as a cheap buy or rental. It's outstanding, except that it lacks replayability. Watch once, and you are basically done.
Bubba Ho-tep - 10/10
This had been in my queue to watch for some time. A creative masterpiece, with nary a flaw. Funny, fun, engaging, and suspenseful. "Ask not what your rest home can do for you..."
American Dreamz - 7/10
Simple, dark, lighthearted fun.
Barbarella - 9/10
There's talk of a remake, and that's sad. There is nothing wrong with the original. Or, I guess I should say, there is nothing wrong with the original that was not intentional .

The Invasion 7/10
It wasn't amazing or anything, but it never really bored me. Some plot holes/unanswered questions here and there, but overall it was good.

American Gangster (extended cut)--Goofy, some good scenes and acting, but the freeze-frame ending was beyond silly. **1/2 out of 4
e: Also to Josh Brolin who played Trupo: Nick Nolte called he wants his DNA back.
