Black Snake Moan - I wish I could believe its proposition.
Deja Vu - Why is time travel always so compromised by action scripting?
Sè, Jiè (Lust, Caution) - Ang Lee is three for the last four in this Tony Leung and the stunning Wei Tang small WWII epic. Beautifully shot and Chinese medical officials have recommended against replicating the sex positions for fear of severe strains. You need more encouragement? Recommended.

Even less plot than the first; suffers from "so dark you can't see crap" syndrome.

Mildly entertaining, but no where near as special as all of the reviews I have been reading about it have been saying. Probably one of the most overrated movies I have seen since "Little Miss Sunshine". The dialogue was self indulgent, and felt forced and contrived. The writer/director clearly tried way too hard to make the dialogue sound clever and hep, which ended up back firing and ultimately made it have the opposite effect. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad movie - it just wasn't anywhere near as special or clever as the critics have led me to believe.

My disclaimer:
My posts are my opinions, please take and respect them as such, and I will do the same for yours. Everyones ears are different sizes and shapes, and we all perceieve sound and music in different ways. Other variables to consider inculde the type of music one prefers, the type of gear one owns, and the type of presentation one prefers in a set of headphones. As such it is up to *you* to use your own ears, gear and music to decide what ultimately sounds the best, since your opinion is really the only one that matters at the end of the day.
Well choreographer movie, but nothing exceptional. I actually liked that the movie mostly avoided action sequences. Clooney was good, sure, but it wasn't a role to give anyone a chance to really act...kind of vanilla.

Dan in Real Life - 7 / 10
Better than I was expecting...Steve Carell was excellent in the lead. Surprisingly good soundtrack. The best part of this movie is the (seemingly) genuine interaction amongst cast members.

Planet Earth - 10 / 10
Awesome, on all counts. I hope it sets a new standard in the industry. The "making of" diaries are often more interesting than the narrated cinematic shows.
