Default Proac Dealer in Washington DC/Baltimore Area?

Hi, i want to take off my HD 600's and put 2 proac tablette's on my head for a change.
I know there is the national distributor for proac in Maryland, they are only about 5 minutes away, but they won't sell to the public. any phone or website info on the nearest dealer would be great.
thanks!
dave-g

I spent 3 hours on the web searching yesterday and no luck...
Why do some audio companies make it so difficult for you to buy their products. You would think that they are doing us a favor!

Check out this site
http://www.audiooutlet.com/ They deal in ProAc's

I cannot vouch for them however they are nearby to me and I think that they are quite reputable.

By the way: I just finished putting my "old" stereo system together. I purchased a new NAIM system and a LP12 turntable. The "old" were my original ProAc SuperTablettes from 1987. My system was purchased from the other high end dealer in the same town as the one above (incredible two high end dealers in a small town-but affluent area). My dealer is a NAIM-LINN-REGA dealer ie the "best" in British sound. He raves about my ProAc's- calls them one of the legendary small monitors of all time.
Hope this helps

Gregg

PS Do some googleing...there is a review of the top model tablettes which is quite impressive. I think about $1300 for the pair

Thanks gregg!
audio-outlet has a much better site than most audio companies. BTW anyone know why are audio web sites so bad? don't they realize that it is one of the main methods for communicating with their customers!

I've read the reviews and listened to a pair of tablette 8 ref signatures at a friend's house and now I'm ready to buy. the problem is that I can't find any dealers to take my money!

You do have quite the british hi-fi thing going on don't you? I'd say that's a pretty good thing too. They really do have a knack for good sound. I'm hoping to have a little British invasion her myself soon but for now I've got the "All American" system, McIntosh MA6500, McIntosh MCD205, Magnepan 1.6QR and Nordost cables. I also have a new set of Dali Evidence 870's but they're aren't very American (or British for that matter). Take care,
dave-g

Dave-g

Glad to here it. What can you tell me about your audition of the tablette 8 ref sig.? I am curious to know if "modern day" ProAc's sound better than my vintage 1987 version.

I can tell you one thing. As I was putting my system together I always brought my ProAc's to my dealer during my demo's. Some HiFi gurus in the "know" sat in during one of the auditions and they were a bit amazed. A jumbo pair of Linn floor standing speakers were next to my ProAc's and when the dealer told them that they were in fact listening to the TINY ProAc's and not the jumbo Linn's they were blown away.

If you go over to the NAIM forum you will see that in addition to Linn KATANS many over there rave about NEAT speakers (british-small like ProAcs and Katans). I think that a Naim dealer in Texas sells and distributes them.
