Default online folder (disk) solution ?

I am always looking for a perfect online storage option.

I want to be able to access a online folder like a local directory from both window and linux. I don't mind installing softwares if required. And yes, I don't mind paying a small fee...

Any recommendations ?

Thanks

I find .Mac to be about perfect.
10GB of online storage, mounted as a folder like a local directory.

Not sure how it plays on MS Windows and/or GNU/Linux though.

Do you mean an FTP? I think that would work for your purpose.

All of the online providers that support WebDAV will work with Linux.

I'd personally recommend JungleDisk, which uses Amazon S3 as a storage backend. If you need to store a lot of data online, Amazon S3 is the most cost-effective solution, and it's metered daily, so you only pay for the storage you need. Unfortunately there is no direct WebDAV access, but there are a variety of tools that work with S3 and Linux. JungleDisk is one of them. It's not free but worth the small cost.

But on linux and window, you can only access it from browser.

I want something can be mounted as a local directory on both windows and linux, not acess from browser...

Huh? Despite the name, WebDAV is not a browser protocol. It's a http-based filesystem protocol. It mounts like a local filesystem.
