Head Size Poll
It's come to my attention that Head-Fi is quite divided in terms of bigheads and smallheads. I am personally a bighead, big enough that Senn 500 teardrop series phones barely manage to fit when fully extended. haha.
So. Let's see. Maybe there's a statistical correlation between head size and headphone mania. who knows?

No offense, doobooloo, but this poll is bound to render some pretty innacurate results when the options are very subjective terms like "small," "medium," and "large." Well, for the record, I voted medium, whatever the hell that means. "Medium" as in bigger than a child's head and smaller than my yellow labrador's monstrosity of a noggin.

haha, yeah it's true that large, medium, and small are very vague but i think if you have a particularly large or small head you would know. like me.
if you haven't thought about your head size before, i guess that's because you have the average head and didn't require any thinking. haha.
then i'm assuming most people would go for medium since that would be the *norm*... again, whatever that is.
i think i'm not making any sense, but whatever. fun poll anyway.

Large, and I have problems finding cans that fit well without feeling like I got a pair of vice grips on my noggin!!! So far the Senn 600s and Sony CD3K are the only one's I can wear for any length of time.

The HP-1000's, then, will be your soulmate. With the flat pads and the HP's, there was nearly half an inch between the edge of the earpad and the edge of my ear.

TQG,
I tried a pair of those and the RS-1s and couldn't stand either of them. That was pretty good that you would know that!!! You seem to know your cans quite well!!!!

why didn't you just put in hat sizes? i think i'm just slightly under a 7 and 3/8 i guess a size 8 and above is a big head, and a size 6 and below is a small head?

Wal,
I use a size 7 1/2 or so, but I consider that large!! But that's a good idea to go by size versus ambiguous terms.

I supposed we can judge it by the number of clicks needed to put on the HD580/600. That'll be universial then won't it?

I'm rather small, 4 clicks on the beyerdynamic 931's, and with 0 clicks, i can ram a phone between one of the pads.

I got curious so I measured my head and it is 24.5 inches in circumference so I voted large.

I wear a hat size 7 (maybe really a 7-1/8 since I wear them tight) and apparently that is much smaller than most Head-Fier's. ...

Maybe we like headphones so much as they mask the rather large size of our gourds????
