The first sign of the Apocalypse is upon us!!!!!
I finally realized just how white-bred my town has become over the years.
There are two Starbucks across the street from each other.
I can sit in one Starbucks and look out and watch the other Starbucks!!!
Needless to say this revelation has caused me to lose what little sense of logic and reason I have and only now have I been able to put it to words.
What's even worse is that there's another Starbucks not two or three blocks away. I try not to think about this too much anymore in fear of my head caving in.
I mean for the love of God, who the hell thought that it would be a good idea to have a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks!?!?!?!?

Which is really funny. I live in Seattle and all of the Starbucks are like spread out all over the place. Too far sometimes.

This is more common than you think, in NY there is also a visual Starbucks from another Starbucks!
What is the big deal with Starbucks? Not only is Starbucks coffee overpriced but it some of the worst coffee that money can buy!
Why do people love this crap?

There's another thing that bugs me. On the way to work, I would pass a full-size Walgreens that was across the street from a full-size Osco Drug. I can't understand in what way would it necesitate the access of TWO drugstore and pharmacies within a hundred foot radius of eachother.

It's like McDonalds. It's crap that is very consistent from store to store, city to city, state to state. People like that old familiar feel.

Funny you mention that, I live about 1/2 mile away from McDonald's headquarters. When I was younger I would sometimes bike there with my neighbor to get food. They don't serve big macs there though, it's actually a really nice restaurant but with cheap prices. (i guess it was an employee benefit sort of thing, but they never kicked me out) I also heard there is an experimental McDonalds somewhere in my area as well, but I wonder if that's just local legend. FWIW, they do have a "Hamburger University"

McDonalds crap is at least edible. Starbucks coffee is bad. We even have a Starbucks here, but it is inside the Safeway grocery store. I guess that's better than the Burger King that is part of the Mobil gas station.
My town is so small that we don't have these problems you speak of. The only thing next door to each other is Wendy's and McDonalds and a Dairy Queen. There was a Skippers right there too, but they died.

Definately agree. I like their non-coffee drinks best, but its still overpriced. All their coffee tastes the same, like burnt sludge. And in downtown Denver you can't walk more than 3 blocks without running into a Starbucks.

Near where I work, on a half mile stretch of road there are the following stores:
Pep Boys
Kragen
Monument Auto
AutoZone
Not to mention 3 mattress stores (make that 5 if you count futon stores), and 3-4 furniture stores.
How do they do business?! Oh yeah and there's also a really shady bar/grill sports bar, that has a security guard outside and apparently has a sign posted that says "Private party" every day. Very shady... Maybe it's a secret gambling house to draw competition away from the casino across the street...

I like making fun of McDonalds but I still eat there from time to time and it is edible. I agree that Starbucks coffee is lousy.
How's this? On Roosevelt Street in Seattle, in a 4 block stretch (very short blocks too), 5 audio shops. Hawthorne Stereo, Magnolia Hi-Fi, Speakerlab, Definitive Audio and I can't for the life of me remember the last one. There might be a couple of others that I haven't seen. Less than half a mile away on University Blvd, there are two others: Audio Connection and Experience Audio.
EDIT: Oh yeah, there's another Magnolia Hi-Fi and Definitive Audio almost across the street from each other in Bellevue (Northup Way).
