I love "Cold Case Files" on A&E... Its amazing the things scientists can do with DNA, genetics and forensics.

That sounds like CSI series, too.
I didn't understand why my former homestay family had to be in front of the TV precisely on time for a show,
until I watched it myself...
I haven't seen the newest ones though.
I like to watch a season at once on DVD anyway :P

Columbo .... the tongue in cheek comments/jokes. You can relax because you know who did it and why. You just watch how the old fella traps them.

Original CSI > Bones == Numb3rs.
Or how I see it, anyway. You just can't beat the cast on the original CSI. I tried Miami a bit, but just couldn't get into it. And NY was a joke, if you ask me. Bones is quite good, but obviously hasn't had much time to mature. We'll see how it goes. I've only seen a few of Numb3rs, but quite enjoyed it. Then, I like shows with math freaks

I always Tivo PBS Mystery. Have been for years. American shows seem a little to polished and slick for me to enjoy. That said. I do rather like Criminal Mind, one of the new shows. Las Vegas, however looks good on HD, with great looking women is a guilty pleasure.

I liked the Original CSI and then thought CSI Miami was OK. When CSI NY came out, I found out that the cast makes a big difference. Gary Senice (sp) is great, but I can't get into the rest of the cast. CSI Miami is getting too far fetched and too emotional. Watching David Curruso over act is also downright painful. I didn't care for the original CSI story last year with the character conflicts. I really like NCIS the best now. The cases aren't as interesting as the original CSI, but the cast makes up for it IMO.
