With water this one improve a LOT. The thin-ness noted before now becomes a softness and a smooth flavor of maple syrup and orange fruitcake. Extremely good with 4 parts whiskey to 1 part water.
I was looking forward to picking up a bottle of this. Now I am starting to think not. What would you recommend, Bourbon-wise, to an avid Scotch Whisky fan (both blended and single malt) who also appreciates Irish Whisky, but hates Tennessee Whisky?

I was born and raised in KY and have been to Woodford Reserve a couple times. It's a very small distillery. I think they make something like 40 barrels a year. That's it! Too bad I'm not much of a bourbon drinker. Gives me too much of a headache. Anyone know any cures for the congeneric hangonvers? I might like to be more of a bourbon drinker in the future.

If you hate Tenn whisky, I kinda doubt that you'll like bourbon. You might try some Rye--the yellow label Jim Beam Rye actually gets a high ratings in the "Whisky Bible" But the world of Scotch is pretty big!
