Default A better Mac music library manager?

A'ite, I'm sick of iTunes. I'm not here to argue about it, 'cuz I loved it when I had 3,300 songs encoded. But now that I'm up to over 33,000 it's just getting painfully slow.

I know Linux has its library managers which do a much faster job of handling big'ns - anything available for the Mac (or that'll run under Darwin/X11 - fine by me). I don't know what I'll do about iPod synchronization, but at this point I don't care so much - I could open iTunes for that.

Ugh. This is half whining, half asking. Any ideas?

Default what works in linux?

I'm not familiar with the ones in linux (feel free to post a link or a list), but one thing you might be able to do is install the linux package using Fink. Let me know if you need more info.
