Does anyone know of a free online site where you can compile a list of players and check their stats on a day-to-day basis?

hmm, my yahoo fantasy baseball team is like that. breakdown by week, month, year, avg or total, so on. too late to join one tho!

I am the commissioner of the fantasy baseball league you're in..

The reason I am asking is because it tells me that if I want live stats after 4/13 I have to purchase some add-on for the league.. I'm not exactly sure what they mean by live stats, though.

StatTaxi.com says their MLB tracking will be online soon. That's probably the best free site that does what you're looking for.
