I don't know where I saw it, maybe it was this thread, lol! but I do know that the Guyver series is being remade or whatever and it looks pretty sick and can't wait for it to come out
Guyver is a pretty cool REALLY OLD series to watch, not many episodes but it's cool.

Just finished Girls Bravo, the series that I saw the first four episodes of at Otakon and initially reviewed and really enjoyed. It really seemed like it was off to a great start but I've gotta say it really sputtered out at the end, it just felt like it didn't go anywhere. There were a couple of funny parts but just not enough to make the last set of episodes worth watching. Overall 2.75/5 Since the DVDs say "season 1" I assume there will be more.

Recently finished Full Metal Panic, and FMP: Fumoffu. Watched and rewatched introducing the series to an anime loving friend of mine. Really liked it a lot, perfect mix of serious action and comedy, and we both nearly busted a spleen laughing at the Fumoffu series.
Now I'm trying to introduce the friend to Steel Angel Kurumi. One of my favorites by far, it just can't help but stir up warm and fuzzy feelings inside of you. And the ending is one of the best endings I've ever seen in an anime series. Highly recommended.
I'm currently trying to start on the Noir series. Should be good.

pretty much what I thought, very nice drawing and great voice acting cast in the beginning... but it really never went anywhere besides blatant (and overdone) fanservice and repetitive cliche stuff
Really? I didn't find it to be either of the two, but it can be difficult to judge an anime based on 1-2 episodes. Take as an extreme example the first episode of Evangelion. The main character could come off on the side of trying to be cool but you will find that a lot in the detective genre. I found that at first Tenjho Tenge seemed like it was trying to be too "cool" but it grew on me after a few episodes.
well i usually do stop after few eps if i find it unbearble or not worth watching in one or the other way. saikano and kiddy grade comes to mind. interestingly tho, i rate uta-kata as one of my top picks from last year (also from Gimik). i really tried to make myself like fruits basket but stopped halfway thru
Regarding ooheadsoo's recommendation for Honey and Clover, I'm up to episode 23 now and it really is excellent. A bit whacky since Gainax also contributed to the production but overall, it's excellent with a good feel for pacing and the right mix between humour and drama. I think the only other romance/comedy that did the humour/drama transitions equally well was Kare Kano (a masterpiece blessed with a mediocre ending). Also, the characters are really outstanding and in 10 episodes there's more plot advancement than other anime series can manage in 26 episodes.
Finally a comedy/drama that doesn't utilize young and uber-cute/short-skirted/sailor-suit female characters with shrill voices. Personally, I couldn't stand recent, well-received productions like School Rumble or Azumanga Daioh.
The animation is definately good. The music is wonderful, unique and absolutely matching although the opening song is very weird. Also, one college teacher looks like Spike from Cowboy Bebop and another woman looks and behaves like a grown-up Ayanami Rei with brown hair.

My all time fav has to be FLCL though. This anime is just pure pleasure
Another good one which I dont see mentionned is Hikaru No Go, which is an anime about Go. Boring says you? nay. Give it a shot and see.
i'm a sucker for those "aim for the top" animes. Hikaru No Go ranks right up there - i wish they kept the series going until they reached Korea at least, too bad!

Fumoffu was absolutely brilliant! You should also try the new Full Metal Panic season called "Second Raid". It's a bit more like the first season meaning more action and plot but it still has its funny moments and after all, you still got the same amiable characters.
Noir is pretty much the polar opposite of the bright and happy Fumoffo but definately one of the best regardless of genre. Especially the soundtrack is extremely well done.

yeah, definately a well made anime; very sensible story line
