003: that's just asking for a full Inbox. :P

The 'new' information: Ken has been testing the first complete Pandora for about a week and a half now. After 24 hours it hits burn-in sweet spot, but even 'out of the box' it is apparently a very solid improvement over the D02 it is roughly based on. He now has all parts for all the DACs owed to people (7 confirmed and 3 paid, but non-responsive customers) and only assembly is required.

The DACs are being made in batches, ie. all of part A made for every DAC, then all of part B etc. So I expect they will all be completed more or less at once. The cases are in progress now.

Its about time. Hopefully he gets back on board and starts to rebuild his reputation with a killer product. I have been watching this painful drama unfold hoping for the best. I would like to consider his products but he needs a few happy new customers/brave souls in his corner before I will risk anything.

Damn, that's like $300 over my budget... any idea if he can do a stripped down version ? I don't need all those extra features.

Yeah, something like that. I've heard $899 on several occasions from him - I don't think he's decided yet.

RE: stripped down version: Why not email and ask him yourself? He is the best source.

IMHO

Let the guy finish what he's currently doing before piling more requests on him. Please give him an opportunity to resolve these issues before placing new orders.

He's stepped up to the plate so it would seem prudent to let this all play out to a successful conclusion before people start making requests for new versions of the product.

Again Just My Humble Opinion but it would seem foolish to place new orders before he's actually delivered the units promised last year.

We all want a happy ending to this and we also want a reliable and prosperous vendor to deal with.

This is meant with the best of intentions.

Mitch

I'm not gonna order something soon from him but I was really interested in this DAC but I found it was too expensive for me so I asked if there was a cheaper similar solution and rincewind was kind enough to send me a really long PM saying that there might be a cheaper dac than the Pandora when it will be established.
