iBasso D2 Boa --- Review Coming up soon
After college i took a cab and headed North to Stereo Electronics.
On reaching the Sales guys were very enthusiastic...and offered me to try all iBasso Amps.
Tested it ...and tested other iBasso's .. convinced that Boa was a better choice keeping in mind it has a DAC too... i told the guy i am buying it.
anyway i had made up my mind before last nite itself.
although one thing kept bugging me that Python & Viper were silver...i love shining Silver
and then i received a surprise.. the guy asked me 'Sir, u want Green or Silver' .. wow i didnt expect they would have Silver in stock.
so i bought iBasso D2 Boa finally.
After being disappointed with GoVibe Petite as it was on the Bright side, .22 amp, GoVibe Martini .. o had made up my mind...although Hornet was perfectly balanced for me but it didnt have a DAC and was too expensive for just an Amp.
So here i am..
on the way back i didnt waste time in the bus and connected it to iPod and took out my headphones HD205 & HD555.
... the Blue light coming out from Silver casing is such a sophisticated sight btw...some people were looking at it.. having no idea what it even was.
First word.. WHOA!
I put on HD205 first..
Something ridiculous happened.... i took them off to confirm they were HD205
There was a change in HD205..they didnt sound if they were sub $75 headphones.
They sounded more like AKG Studio monitor h'phones .. i am talking that kind of Clarity in sound not the Sound signature.
The song was Dance of Death by Iron Maiden... the Vocals of Bruce Dickinson were filled with a Tenor which i never heard before with the Closed headphones.
in simple terms ..the Resolution of headphones changed. there was so much more to analyse in them now.
perfect synergy couldnt be better. a friend of mine was right when he said HD205 could take an amp.
So next i tried HD555 ..because i mainly bought Boa for them.
I put on some Trance tracks : Denial - Airbase ft. Tiesto (Search of Sunrise Asia)
First things first.. the Bass was much refined now.. the 100Hz+ Bass and the 40Hz were clearly distinguished
... the Highs in Electronic music just came out totally in HD555.. these Warm headphones suddenly became a much more Detailed and Balanced than i could ever imagine.
then i tried Punk Rock.. Simple Plan is a harsh noisy album but i gave it a try
The Roll off in some was replaced by Extended frequencies. the Crash of the Cymbals was better
at this point i see no reason why i should have bought HD595..... because my HD555 were sounding more towards HD580.
........more to come..... tired after long day.
for rite now i am uploading pics... will share detailed stuff later.
also will do up a proper Review with more genres and content
Notice the Camera in the Reflection:
The LOD i bought separately..he was pushing me for more expensive ones..but i guess later:
