Owned one, just sold it. Superb little entry level tube amp. Change the stock 6F3 tubes, replace with a high quality ECL85 or 6GV8, and it sounds even better. Typical DV sound: powerful (drives the HD650ss with comsummate ease), dynamic, open with a nicely detailed top-end.
These remarks come with a qualification: The FIGARO should be used with high impedance headphones, like SENNHEISER HD580s, HD600s and HD650s or BEYERDYNAMIC DT880s.

Had one, and liked it.
The price is nothing special though, that is pretty much how much they normally go for, and there is still a 50-70 USD shipping charge depending on who you buy it from.

How do you think they would go with a K601? Or is the Figaro on the bright side?

60 to Australia on the Australian eBay site. Hm. Might pull the trigger, gotta do some more reading on Shanling, etc. EF-1 appears to be a bit bright, I have enough brightness already on my K601s lol
