Default C&C v2 anyone tried one of these?

Just picked one up for a song and I am wondering how they perform?

I have one and really like it. It can drive my Grado's or my K701's without problem, battery is rechargeable & you can plug it in and ue as a home headphone amp.

The main problem I have heard is that you can't really get an unaltered signal. The filters always add something to the signal. While I don't mind it, it is not for everyone.

In the amp shootout it didn't fair well either, mostly becasue of this problem.

But for the price I think it is a great little amp.

Thanks for the info, I guess these fiters can't be bypassed totally w/o coloration then? Also do you have the link to the amp shootout?

i have a C+C f1 portable amp, and the net improvement in sound with my denon d2000 is negligible, although there is an increase in quality. its simply not worth the $160 price tag. I would recommend looking into Ibasso D2, Meier Headsix, or possibly headstage lyrix. then again the d2000 are low impedance and probably dont need an amp, but ive heard some amps even drive low resistance headphones to new levels. However, like i said, the C+C f1 has dissapointed, so im going to stay clear of this brand.

The C&C Box v2 was a little chepaer than the F1 I guess. New the box was $100 and you can find them used a bit cheaper than that. I nought mine for $70 a year ago and I have seen them cheaper than that. So for $60-$70 this is not a bad amp at all. Sounds much beter than my buddy's CMOY amp he paid $15 less for.

In Audiophile School, Equipment 101, we were taught that no amp should add nor detract anything from the original source (signal) it should simply pass along, unaltered, what the source component and the source material has to offer. A great amp should sound like it's not even in the chain!

I would further add that all great equipment should be invisible--again adding or subtracting nothing!

I have those and I find them to meet my needs as a portable amp perfectly. I am never really looking for unaltered signal while on the road, nor am I looking to drive my hd580 with them. They make my ksc75 and im716 sound a lot better that straight out of my Meizu.

Edit: Those sounded like crap with my HD555 although they were only 50ohm. I guess bad synergy.
