Sony MDR-EX700LP or Denon AH-C700

I'd like to hear what some people think about either of these. I'm in the market for a good single driver IEM. My experience with comfort with the Sony MDR-EX85's has been superb, so I know I won't have any issues with Sony, comfort wise, I've never seen or touched the Denons.

I'd just like to hear some opinions on what you think is better and why.

At the price point of the Denon and Sony earphones, should they be externally amped, or will a iPod Classic be fine?
