^ They are very small, the entire IEM is about the size of the medium UE single tip.

Yes, the shiny parts are metal. They look and feel very luxurious.

They are? I thought they were plastic, the same type that's used in the case and cable.

could you post in-ear pics of your own?
OK.

They are very small, almost invisible when you wear them.

These IEMs are very promising. I like the technical specs. Sensitivity is enough to play them loud out of every mp3 player, but not high enough to pick unbearable hiss. They disappear in the ear.
The idea of tuneable drivers is extremely clever. I have to try a pair.

Default Chromed Covers

The covers are a very thick chromed plastic. We want to be able to offer different types from black lacquer to pink if someone wanted it. It is the same metal used on the holding case.

I am glad to see you liked the new bass ports Kees. That is what we are sending out now with all units. Amazing what changing a port size by a few thousandths can do.

Maybe, just maybe I can put some response curves up soon

Jason

They play absolutely fine without an amp with both my X5 and my Trekstor Vibez. I have all the volume and authority I could wish for. Adding a Headroom Micro/desktop changes the sound signature a tiny bit (a bit more warmth), but does not add anything essential.
I never heard any hiss at all.

A very short comparison with my ER-4P.
The differences are obvious:
ER-4P have better clarity, detail and high freq extension. Bass is equally deep on both, but allways more up-front with the SA6.
The sound of the SA6 has more body and weight, and the bass has much more slam and power. The bass has a LOT of power, but it does not interfere with the midrange. Bass in both IEMs is articulate and detailed.
The SA6 have a treble roll-off that makes them sound darker compared to the ER-4P.
SA6 have more PRAT and FUN.
My preference is very much depending on the music.

classical: ER-4P most of the time. Some large orchestral pieces fare well with the added weight of the SA6 though.
Jazz: ER-4P, except when we're talking jazz-rock, then the SA6 win clearly in PRAT. The new ports shifted the balance to 50/50.
Pop/rock: depends, but most of the time the PRAT of the SA6 wins. The treble roll-off is in some recordings more evident than in others.

I am not declaring a winner here. I have no favorite, they are far too different for that. This is more meant to give you a relative idea of where the SA6 stand sonically.

I know Elnero is comparing them with the Shure 500. That should be interesting.
