That's the dream behind it. We want to constantly be able to feel the needs of the market and adapt to it without breaking the consumers bank. We want to keep them in the Sleek family. We do plan on making the wireless attachment affordable by earphone standards.

The customs have to be unique and bring something special to the table that has not been done before. That's all I can say without giving any competitors a heads up.

Is there no plan to develop a bass++ port?

I'm not really a bass head, but sometimes I feel like it wouldn't hurt to have a little more. It's quite punchy, but sometimes I miss some of the weight and "subwoofer-like" feeling. I use software equalizers to tune the bottom end up a little, but if a future bass++ port was introduced that had the same effect, it'd be preferable considering that was what the VQ System was designed for.

After all, we all have different ears and different tastes in sound. With a bass++ tuning port developed, I think this IEM would reach out to an even larger audience.

My Portaphile is out to a friend on a long term loan. But I did plug it into my Headamp AE-2.

It has been my experience that earphones with balanced armatures really do not benefit a whole lot from amping. My AT-CK9, CK10, UM2's and the UE Triple-fi's do not sound appreciably better (or worse) from amping.

The treble+ tip really opens up the sound considerably, improving on the soundstage and clarity. IMHO, everyone should fit it in As I have mentioned earlier, the highs were very nice, it's not overly bright or harsh. The treble on the Triple-Fi Pro and the AT-CK10 reaches a lot higher, and you can really tell when you listen to instrumental tracks. The higher reach does give those earphones a bit more sparkle and detail in the highs - but the difference is not huge. And that's the reason why I'm interested in the Treble++ tip

The SA6 produces a remarkably clean, neutral and non fatiguing sound...there do not seem to be any frequency bias or "colouring". This is one set of earphones that I can listen to for long periods.

I have listened it using a variety of the DAP's I own. The best sounding pairing was the Cowon D2. The sound was rich, robust and the highs were crisp and sparkling. The SA6's bass was superb on the D2, great extension and reverb....Mach Bass for the win! My Sony NW-A808 sounded slightly muddy with a discernable treble roll-off. This was in comparison with the Cowon.

My DAP for my daily commute was the Apple Touch. Unfortunately, with the Touch, the SA6 sounded a little hollow, and there was also a slight treble roll-off compared to the Cowon. I really can't place it, it seemed there was something missing in the upper bass. Nothing much I can do, because the EQ settings on Apple iPods are basically crud....it creates distortion whenever you activate the EQ settings.

I changed to the black treble tube today, and not sure it's an improvement yet. I am going to do some back and forth listening, but I'm not convinced. I liked the gray (treble+) so much, it might be I was accustomed to it, and the change will take some getting used to. Not sure. Guess that's part of the fun of using the SA6s, the mix and match options.

And I'm with Peter D, and would love to see a slamming bass module to add to the collection. For now, the bass is fine. Don't mean to pour it on, Jason.

I agree about the amp, too. Can't really say the Minibox or the Penguin have much impact on the SA6s. At least not enough to use them. And that's a benefit, but it does make me wonder whether I even need an amp at all, since these are my new go-to IEMs, and the SR-80s or PK3s don't really need an amp.

That's an interesting question, but I doubt it could be easily implemented. The "tuning port" is a hole, and the bass attachment is a rubber plug that fits into it. Not sure how the other materials can stay on without glue and stuff

Ah, woops I meant the tubes (plug) that go into the ports, oh well I guess both things would be interesting to experiment with.

Here's a final configuration:
Bass+, Treble++ and Klipsch medium ear tips. Treble++ puts just a tad more zip into the high end than the Treble+ tip and the klispch ear tip is unbelievably comfortable. Perfect combination.

I sent my UE11 in for an artwork overhaul. The SA6 will serve me well until it's companion returns. This combination works so well, I am selling off my full-sized cans and not looking back.

Hey, do you think you can take a couple pictures of them with the Klipsch gels on? I would love to see that. Also can you just order them from Klipsch even if you don't own any of their phones? I'm curious to experiment with some tip options. I have tried the Shure black foamies and the Comply short tips, and didn't like either anywhere as well as the supplied bi-flanges.

You have the newest tips. The only thing that you do not have are the new treble ports, which we are shipping out to all past orders. We just received them yesterday so all orders from that point on will have the new ports included.

I will see what I can do about pics. I don't own a camera (never have, as strange as that sounds), or have a camera phone, but will see if I can get someone else to snap a few.

I don't see the Klipsch tips available anywhere on their website, or anywhere else for that matter, but assume they will be available eventually. When I ordered the Custom3, there was an offer included to register the phones and receive a pair of free gels. I returned the Custom3 and a few days later the tips arrived, so I tried them on the SA6. The tips didn't work well with the Custom3 themselves, but work great on the SA6.

So, if I order the Custom 3s, get the free gels, and return the Custom3s, voila! A great set of tips for the SA6s. Hmm, too bad Klipsch doesn't just sell the gels. I wonder if and when they will? Odd if their headphones don't sell, but their gel tips do.
