The SA6 is no slouch on bass, either, so it gives me just about everything I could expect.

I don't toss recommendations around very often, but I HIGHLY recommend the SA6. It's that good.

I was planning on ordering a pair yesterday night but the $20 coupon had already stopped working, so I held off.

Please, Michael, toss us Head-Fiers a new bone!

Wow, this is exciting... Favoring the SA6s over the UE11... I was about to order it yesterday too, but I decided to wait until soozie writes up a review on the SA6.

@PeterDLai: I completely forgot about that PM you sent me. Do you still want me to answer it?

These SA6's have such lush, natural & sweet mids/highs that I could not ever part with this level of refined sound.

Let me know what you think of that Image/SA6 comparison when you get to hear it. Soozieq is going to be able to do that as well I think- her SA6's should get there in a couple days.
Chris, I think you would love the Triple fi. They are awesome. Bass is incredible. Huge, defined & detailed, big, especially with Shure foamies. Both bass and treble are the best I found in any IEM.

EyeAmEye,

When are you going to try the Bass++ and Treble++ ports?

I didn't get the treble++ tubes yet. Have to run, Antony. Will answer questions tonight when I get back. Sorry. The gym beckons.

I received my iMod today via FedEx. It took 4 days, weekend included. It's possible you might receive your SA6 tomorrow, or in very few days.

I hope so. And I hope the extended treble tips were included. I know tstarn didn't receive his, but at least he's in the US and they can send them out pretty fast. If they forgot mine too, I'd have to wait another week. I can't even bear to think about that

EDIT: Just found out mine WERE included so now I can 'sleek' well tonight.

Thanks Jason

I PM'd Jason tail end of last week and he said he was dropping them in the mail this morning, so hopefully in a few days. Very excited to see what they can do.

As I said, I generally don't like to overhype anything, but I am truly impressed and amazed at the sound the SA6 delivers. The only thing it's missing is a custom fit

Also, is the junction between cable and earphones a tight one? UE IEMs have replaceable cables, but they don't have a snug connection. Etys do.

What else... what can you tell me about bass definition? I think the only way my tweaked Super.fi fall short compared to the Triple fi is due to less defined bass. It is slamming, but not completely "real" sounding... more of a blurry bass. Like a slamming cloud. Triple fi behave much better in bass definition, it sounds more "analogue".
Comfort was okay with the flanges, but I have yet to meet a flange I can stay with. So as I noted, I slipped on a pair of my favorite foamies, Shure yellows, and they clicked right away for me. Very comfy. They are just the right circumference for my ears, and are short (like Comply shorts, but not as thick), so the end of the sound tube on the SA6 is just shy of the end of the foamie. For whatever reason, they are very comfortable (I used them on the Atrios, which I think I also mentioned).

Now, sound-wise, I even think I prefer the sound coming from the foamies, bass seems deeper, but not flabby at all. And I like having the sound tube and sleeve tube about the same length, so there isn't much distance from the end of the phone to my ear canal. As I have noted, I have a pair of custom sleeves I had made for an old pair of FS EM3s, but the sound tube of phones that fit (Atrios, Ety ER4P) only reach halfway into the sleeve's sound canal. To me, it thins the sound, and who needs that?

Cable is not braided, and the lower main stalk is pretty substantive, feels rubber coated (not cloth), while the two wires from the slider are thinner, and also rubber coated.

I don't find the bass "clouded" at all, and I am using the bass+ port. I even bumped up the bass a little on the Sony DAP, and it's still tight and really delivers some kick.

The snap-in collar where the cables meet the phones seem very secure to me. Not an issue.

Anyway, back to listening. I just got in, and I want to listen some more.

Edit: Oh, I agree with another poster that it's very hard to decipher the L from the R phone. Nice to have some color coding or something, not sure what. It's especially tough for we older guys.

One negative on mine, and it's only a minor gripe... the logo is already wearing off on a couple of the sides of the earphone bodies. Argh. I suppose before too long they'll really look like some unknown, unbranded, IEM.

Jason- Can we get the logo's reprinted?? I mean for such a high end audiophile IEM I want to be flying the colors!
