s-jays vs. NUFORCE NE-7M
Hi head-fiers,
After some researching and reading some reviews, I got 2 candidates to upgrade from a CX300s: s-jays or NE-7M, both with lot of praises in the forum.
Assuming the have similar price (<60€), I would like to know what is the head-fiers' choice and why, I would appreciate some hint on this. Thanks in advance

never tried the jays but i was blown away by the ne-7m's performance and price ratio. It sounded like the superfi 5 i had with more bass.

Same for me -- haven't heard any of the Jays phones, but am really enjoying the NE-7M. They are a well-balanced, sufficiently detailed earphone. I've got about a week's play on mine after 60 hours burn-in, and the mids seem to be warming up a bit. They have a signature similar to the PK3, but with more detail and crispness on the high end, and a bit more natural sounding mids.

Try the Head-Direct RE2's. Great deal for $49. And many people rate them better than the NuForce NE-7M.

Have you heard the 7m's personally? And would you please list the "many" people who rate the Re2's better?

First of all. tstarn states that the RE2 is better with an amp. And no, I have not heard the 7m's personally and probably am not qualified to go into a deep discussion about the two, but I do like the RE2's quite a bit, and was just giving the OP my opinion on it.

I haven't hears the Jays but I do have the NE-7. Comparisons to the Super.fi 5 are just. Easily the best sub $100 IEM I've heard.

I have both and like both. After playing around a lot with tips, I have not yet found the RE2 to sound better than the 7m, but I have never found the 7m more comfortable.
Thing is the price on either is great (especially $49 RE2s), and you'd have to spend at least double to get much better. If that's where your budget is at, you can't really go wrong with either.

I would also recommend the RE2s, but I don't know if they're better than the NE-7Ms (haven't heard them). I got them for $80 and was very pleased with the purchase. There isn't a lot of bass, but it is there when the song needs it to be there, and it is quite accurate. The mids are smooth and very detailed. The treble isn't recessed or harsh. Listening to them overall was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately I returned them because I absolutely COULD NOT stand the microphonics. Apparently the microphonics were fairly average for IEMs, so I imagine the NE-7Ms wouldn't be much better for me, but they really did detract from my listening experience. Therefore the only portable headphones I'd consider buying now are over-the-ear ones, which apparently have less microphonics.

My little bro (and I) have A/B'ed both the RE2, with a Fiio E5 amp on bass mode and NE-7M.
We both preferred the NE-7M SQ wise.
NE-7M = better overall sound.

these votes are unrealistic: why can you vote for a headphone against a headphone you have never heard? this is silly. we need people who have heard both to make their opinions known.

I'm not sure you can get the NUFORCE NE-7M fro less than 60€ in Europe, if you get them from the US you'll end up paying expensive shipping & import duty.
