I'm interested in the RE1s but there don't seem to be too many people with them.
What sort of amp would you recommend - I was looking at the iBasso D2 Boa or the Corda 2Move, would they be any good?
More importantly, can anyone tell me how the RE1s are for classical and ambient music, particularly compared with some of the other high quality IEMs?
Thanks.

No specific amp in mind but you might want an amp that sounds neutral to a bit bright. Warm amp is not recommended.
With the right amp, I think RE1 can sound pretty good with most genre of music. Personally speaking, I think RE1 sounds fine with classical, but I prefer TF10 over RE1 for the extra treble detail.

I hate to ask, but do you (or does anyone else) know of any specific amps that might fit well with the RE1s, which are not too expensive (say, not much over 200 USD)? I confess that I know very little about amps, and am having a tough time understanding some of the massive review threads in the portable amp subforum! Thanks again.

Hello, i also use re-1s.
I've followed clieos's recommendation to try the travagan's colours and it's good.
yesterday, i went around my country's various stores, trying earphones.
With this amp, i tried the tf.10s, and se420.
It's loses to tf.10 only slightly in sound-stage and in the treble but wins 420 totally imho
It's a quick listen though.

For $200 or less, my first choice is probably Meier Audio's Corda HeadSix / XXS.

Thanks to you both. Actually, as I mentioned, I am strongly considering the 2move which I believe is meant to be a step up from the XXS/HeadSix so perhaps that would be a good option? If possible I would be hoping that the amp will, I guess, "improve" the highs and the detail of the RE1, if that makes any sense - I understand it's normally quite dark and little less detailed than other similar phones, and I'd be hoping to compensate for that. Or is this not a very realistic goal? As you can tell, I'm quite new to all of this!

The amp section of XXS/HeadSix is supposedly the same as Move/2Move/3Move, but I recall SkyLab's review that the HeadSix/XXS kicks out a bit less bass than Move/etc It is definitely a good choice.

Thanks again for your reviews here ClieOS.
I got the SA6 a few days ago and re-reading your comments, I think you summed it up very well with : "warm, mid centric with some of the best vocal but doesn’t lack bass or treble".

Super.fi 5pro and 5EB are some of the 'phone I am very unlikely to buy.
My no interest IEM list currently include:
All Super.fi and Metro.fi except the new SF5.
All Shure
All Sennheiser (unless they decide to drop the price to a more reasonable level and actually release them in S.E.Asia)
All Klipsch except X5 and X10
All Jays
All V-moda
All custom

Yes. As you can see in the first post there is two rating on SA6 value: one for the MSRP ($250) and one for the lower price ($200).

Atrio is currently on order and should arrive mid next week, a review will probably be posted in another week or two, after factoring in the burn-in and audition time.
As for Custom 3, sorry mate, I am more interested in X5 and X10 and I don't want to spend too much money on a single brand.
