Default RE2 or UM1

I'm wondering which one I should get. Both around the same price so which one is better. I dont mind bass. I have a 160gb Ipod if that makes any difference.

These two IEM seem to pop up quite often in discussions

RE2 are more like canalphones than IEM. They don't push in very deep, while the UM1 are more like traditional in-ear monitors.

which is your suggestion?. I like the look of the RE2 but they have limited warranty.

RE2s sound way better in my opinion than the UM1s, better mids and slightly better highs as well, amount of bass is roughly the same (based on a comparison I did a while ago when I owned both, I have sold off the UM1s since then). The warranty period of the UM1s is longer so if that is a major concern of yours go with the UM1s.
