They do work well with the Nuforce Icon Mobile, while the C700 and RSA Tomahawk didn't get along very well. I replaced the TH with the Meier Headsix for the C700, but the Nuforce might actually be a better choice to bring the mids out and control the bass. I did a write-up about IEM and amp synergy a while back: Synergy between Portable Amps and IEMs - 9 IEM compared with 9 portable amps = 81 chances to mess up!

wel i have no plans to get crazy with getting lots of amps, the icon sounds fine, has the dac when needed and is a very convenient shape.

just happens that the c751 goes along particularly well with it i feel

It bought it because it had become low‐priced.
The record to sound it better has been described to Blog.

I want to reiterate that the C700 sound much better with Complys T400 foam tips. I posted that a while back.

I was able to find these tips online for $14.95 here: T-400

Is there any better source to buy these tips?

And the Koss foam tips made a HUGE sonic improvement for me as well.

Even if I limit my builds to just a half dozen designers: Greg Ball, John Broskie, Alex Cavalli, Peter Daniels, Nelson Pass, and Colin Toole; I still can't keep up! So many great designs, so little time... And that doesn't even include Dave Dlugos' speaker designs.

Mine broke recently. I gave them a rough time and they held up really well considering.

I'd love to get them fixed, pretty confident it's just a loose connection in the housing.

Now, C700 became about 7,500 yen it in Japan.
A new model might go out. However, what thought not to be able to buy was able to be bought.

I wish to express gratitude for information for Ear Chip.

Default 751 - Boomy?

I recently received a pair of Ultimate Ears 700s and have been comparing them to my trusty Denon 751s. The first thing I notice when going between the two is that the UEs do not have the bass extension or depth of the Denons, leading to a thinner sound in the lower registers compared to the 751s.

When I brought this up in a UE thread, it was suggested that I was used to "over-powering and "boomy" bass. I was a bit surprised by this - I haven't been here in a while, but before I bought the Denons in April 2008 I never heard them referred to as boomy or un-natural; if anything the 700s / 751s were considered a bit restrained in the bass department.

So are the 700s / 751s now really considered "boomy" IEMs, or is this just an example of BA IEMs like the UEs unable to keep up with decent dynamic IEMs in the lowest frequencies?

well the c751 isnt boomy as such but it is bass abundant, its not aiming for a neutral level of bass its its aiming for a big fat ass whooping bass and thats what it delivers very well

Thanks, and your right. When I pulled my Senn HD595s (closest thing I have to a "reference") out for another listening session this evening, it became clear that the Denons do deliver kick ass bass, which works well most of the time, but on occasion can overwhelm the rest of the track. The UE 700s bass is quite close to the Senns - accurate, analytical, but perhaps not as "fun" as the 751s.
