Default Image X10 or Atrio m5?

Im trying to decide between the two of these. I like lots of bass and heard that the m5 have more than the x10 but how much more do they have? I also hear the m5 are more durable. I like the x10 because they are supposed to be very comfortable. How comfortable is the m5? Which do you guys recommend?

Hiphop? You'll love the Atrio's in that case, they got crazy bass!

I'll recommend the Atrio then instead of the X10. The Atrio has better bass extension and quantity than the X10, suited for genres like hiphop. They have quite a bit more bass than the X10, without muddying the midrange.

I've had the Atrio for a couple of months now, and the fit can get quite tricky at times. Do note the Atrio depends heavily on fit and depth of insertion to achieve the right sound and correct amount of bass. Soundstage is also affected. But once you find your sweet spot for it, the sound is really quite something. Tips also play a part in the overall comfort for the Atrio.

The X10 is more comfortable than the Atrio, but the Atrio's build quality is sturdier. Nothing should happen to either if you take care of them properly though.

Sound isolation is another thing, the X10 isolates better than the Atrio. This probably has to do with the housing since I've tried the Atrio with various tips like triflanges, stock biflanges, complys, olives and all of them still do not isolate that well.

Hope this helps.

Owned both, and prefer the X10s, though I had the original v1 Atrios. Just nothing like the X10 comfort, and it has nice, tight bass, never bloaty or muddy. And plenty for all types of music.

Is the only thing the x10 has over the atrios the comfort or is there more?

i believe the x10's have a better all around than the m5. the x10's are pretty/very good for multiple things, bass, highs, treble, etc. so i would recommend the x10's if u listen to a variety of music like i do. it have the perfect amount of bass for me. im not a basshead, but i do like above average. thats how much bass the x10's have. if ur looking for strictly bass, and u only listen to bass heavy music, go with the m5. and as said above, the x10's win in comfort and ability to get a seal since there ear tips are oval shaped. im not trying to put the x10's as only an average all arounder, they can compete with the top IEM's and the more expensive ones. they are VERY good all arounders.

btw, i see that u listen mainly to hip-hop, but, are u a basshead? do u absolutely love bass? if so, the m5 would prolly fit u well, but, if u do like bass, but ur not insane over it, maybe consider the x10

You shouldn't really use IEMs to videogame. It's like asking which trackpad is the best for gaming imo although that is a bit more extreme. Go get some full sized ones if you want to game. If you had to have an answer though, I'd think Atrios cause they are dynamic drivers and will have more impact so sound better for gaming.

Atrio M5 for your purposes.

As to the videogame question, I found myself unhappy using headphones for gaming until I got something with volume control on the cord. Nothing more irritating than things being too loud or too soft at an important cutscene or elsewhere.

Not sure what your budget is, but I too was looking at both the 10 and M5, and decided the X10 was better for me, but before pulling the trigger, I started to read about the IE8, and have ordered them!

From what I have read, they are a step up in every way compared to the X10, and everything is much better than the M5, except maybe the bass (slightly).

And the soundstage is supposedly possibly the best of any IEM. I am in the US and ordered them through Advanced MP3 Players in England for way cheaper than here in the US.

Haha, maybe not a step up in terms of Isolation and comfort...but look at the price difference man...you are paying for what you get~

Yeah...if you are playing video game, I will highly recommend you a Sennheiser HD595...
but for IEM, I will take Image x10 anytime, it is one of the best bass I have heard, I will put it on par with SE530 in terms of bass...the overall sound quality is also one of the best earphones...right now I am using and westone 3, yeah it is better than Image x10 in terms of SQ, but just slightly I would put it that way...
Actually my original IEM battle was between a Image x10 and Se530, I finally picked up X10, not because of the price difference...the X10 is just so small and comfort with big sound...I will put it in the same league with the high end IEMs such as W3 IE8 SE530 Trifi etc...

Anyways, I will highly recommend Image x10~
