It's difficult to tell. I don't have a FreQ Show with the ML crossover, but I think the MM crossover has a small black oval circuit device near the connector.

I can't give you specific examples! Like I said, I wasn't trying to make any comparisons. I just thought the bass was fast! I think if you're enjoying the bass, then it's all good

Do you listen to electronic or techno music? I'm pretty sure you can find some tight bass there.

Interesting. I tried it out with my SuperFreqs via my iBasso D2 Boa.

Firstly I went for threshold of audibility.

It's a little bit rough & subjective, but the SuperFreqs + my ears seem very flat in the midrange at such quiet levels.

Then I tried it at a quiet but much more audible volume level:

Then louder still (but still quite comfortable):

Interesting, but not sure it sheds any insight on my SQ issues - feel free to chime in!

Ya, I said in that thread that it's not a very good measurement. It might be fun to use it to compare how you hear two different phones. Otherwise, it's very subjective, but I guess you can say that you're hearing the 400hz-2khz range more than the rest

Maybe it might be a good idea to do the threshold test with a higher volume or compare with some cans.

This is the opposite of what OP is saying in teh review, right?

Are you saying the MM is worse in temrs of SQ out a portable amp (or an ipod/zen/I7) than the ML??

I have the Lyrix and I am only considering the best out of a portable amp.

I am doubting if WindowsX has both MM and ML x-over Freqs. Base on what information he has to make such a judgement?

From Killkil and Powertoold (they both have MM and ML freqs), the MM will win with a slight margin in SQ (with/wo amp)

Getting my ear impressions today. I plan to get the MM version of the FreqShows because of this comment and other's comments on the thread. I would rather have more detail available without an amp as I will be using my iPod/iPhone/Macbook as a source.

I think the consensus among those that have heard both is to get the MM xover.

thanks for the confirmation. Had my ear impressions over lunch. That was painless, yet a weird feeling.

Most likely will order the FreQ Shows today. Nothing's holding me back now!

Just placed my order for the FreQ Shows with the MM x-over and sent my impressions to them. Now the waiting begins...

Ordered the black color for both the inner and outer ear, but have the inner ear a light translucent black and the outer ear a dark translucent black.
