I've got the ER4S. Will never forget opening the package a few years ago and wondering if I had just blown $300 for nothing. That lasted until I got them in my ears and the music playing. Amazing.

I just bought the ER4P to complement my Shure E500's with an IEM having a drastically different sound profile. So far, they sound absolutely amazing! I can't say for sure whether I prefer the Ety's to the Shures (they are both excellent IEM's). But I am happy to have joined the Etymotic club and am fully enjoying the ER4P.

Er-4P is low impedance so it can run straight from your device, the Er-4S requires an amp.

You can also make the P IEMs S by using a simple cable from Etymotic if you want (or buy the package with that cable).

I just ordered a ER4P with the APuresound cable This will be my first ER4 (though i had a ER6 in the past and loved the accurate sound)
I love the look of the Etys with Alex's cable. It looks really industrial and badass

I just ordered an ER6i and the Shure Black Olives (Everyone says they're better) for about triple what they are on Amazon, since Amazon won't ship earphones to New Zealand

I hope they're as good as I hope they are.
