i was wondering, in live performance why do musician use this custom earphones, like this, what's the purpose of them?

Why they need this earphones, do they isolate noise, or what?

basically for great isolation and a low/non attention-seekin profile.

is your question more why they need it on stage or why they use these customs instead of universals?

so they can monitor the sound of the performance without risking the echoes/delay and interference of the sound between a speaker on the stage acting as a monitor and all the crowd noise, etc.

this way they can play in sync and hear what they are creating just right.

customs isolate and get the music right in their ears without looking obtrusive as well.
