Since I own a GS-1000 and vintage RS-1, I can't justify having these beauties around so I'm selling them to fund my prototyping projects.
These have been modified with the following:
Recable: 5' solid-core 26awg 99.9999% pure copper in Teflon, sleeved in nylon multifilament, terminated to 1/4".
Mahogany woodies courtesy of Cody @ HeadCoverage. ($115 shipped)
Black sheepskin leather handband courtesy of Jeremy @ HeadCoverage ($52 shipped)
The headband is very beautiful and feels so much better than the stock crappy thin one, favorite comfort upgrade.
The domed woodies look fantastic and sound great, also very light.
The recable is very flexible and and soft. Great sound over stock.
These sound very sweet and I love rocking out to them, but the RS-1 keeps dragging me back for the energetic feel.
What I paid
SR225 sell for around $150 used, my recable is $50, the rest of the parts come add up to $167 after shipping, totaling $367.
Selling Price : Only $300
I also have the Large Modified Pads that I paid $60 for and they are available separately at the same price, or $50 with the headphones.

Hard Drive: a crash waiting to happen . . . back-up yer stuff now!
Should have used way smaller diameter sleeving. Kind of looks sloppy.
Thanks, very helpful. Next time keep it.
Either way, it does provide one serious advantage, which is the reason I didn't go for super-thin sleeving - the cable inside is a bit longer than the sleeving so you will never apply pressure to the cable itself, only the sleeving and that prevents it from breaking.
I'm not going to drop the price as it's already extremeley good, I'm taking a bit of a loss here, but with 3 pairs of Grados, I just don't use these as much.
Note to all buyers: thee wooden pads are not by Headphile and are installed by being slipped on between the housing and driver. Very easy to do with these headphones, takes about 30 seconds; but would take a little longer on other SR-series Grados (maybe 2 minutes to separate them).
