Smile FS: Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80ohm w/7ft Cardas 24awg cable & Cardas GRQ SS 1/4" Plug

Just looking to get back what I have invested into these babies. I did an EXCELLENT job re-cabling them(if I do say so myself) All connections soldered with Cardas Quad-Eutectic solder. All wires solidly restrained with absolutely no chance of stressing solder joints. Entrance into ear cups beautifully finished with HD650 plug ends. Black Tech-Flex with Cardas Blue finish under main cable and black on black for the Y cables. Cardas plug and all solder joints treated and protected with Deoxit Gold.

Anyone who has purchased these knows that they are virtually un-listen-able to straight out of the box. Boom Boom Boom and some vocals trying to climb out of the bass extravaganza that you are presented with. I have applied a foil faced sealant tape to the inside of the ear cups. It is much denser than "blue tak" that is used a lot here and makes the thin plastic ear cups perform more like high density wood/rigid aluminum material. This dramatically tightens up the base and makes it much more detailed and realistic. Also, the reason I chose the foil was to emphasize the mids and highs and get these bad boys as close to a neutral frequency response as possible. Next step I took to was to remove the gigantic plastic diffuser/driver cover. These things are ridiculous!!! I would guess-timate these things cover almost 50% of the total driver surface area!!! No wonder there are sooo mid-range deficient in their stock form.

As they are now... they are definitely still a bassheads wet-dream mids are still a bit recessed but... hey, they are actually there now. Simply put, they sound 100 times better than stock!!! The cable upgrade alone put them light years ahead(stock cable is 3 wire configuration, left-right-single shared ground wire)

Reason I am selling is because I derive my listening enjoyment from the ultra details that my Audio-Technica A900Ti's present me with. I know that these Beyer drivers will never be able to develop the ultra details that I enjoy the most with my music.

$275.00 Shipped CONUS (1 month old & original everything included)
Postal money order or Paypal accepted(add Paypal fees if using credit card)

PM me if you want Hi-Res pics or have any questions.

Feedback here and Ebay(weeeeesquirrel)

I do request that BUYER give me their impressions of my Squirrel-MOD sound after they audition them

FYI: In a couple weeks I will be offering custom headphone cables and headphone re-cabling service. Watch Audiogon for details
