FS: AKG K1000 (K 1000, K-1000). WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!
SOLD my low series numbered AKG K-1000.
The first produced AKG K1000 units were better than the later series.
They did not lack bass as the newer units do. For some strange reason, AKG changed at one step something in the technology, which lead to the still excellent, but a bit bass-lacking later production. I read in an older thread here that the change occurred somewhere at 2000+ serial number.
I own three pairs, two SN <2000 and one SN >10000. They are very different sounding indeed. I am selling now one of the two low SN ones.
They come with all the original accessories: the old-style black box, the extension (pigtail) cable and the documentation.
1100 euros including WORLDWIDE REGISTERED SHIPPING.

are you flexible at all on price or taking offers....1100 euros just seems kind of crazy steep for us north america fi'ers, usually you can get a nicely recabled K1K for a couple hundred less than that even....

It's a pity indeed that the $ is so low... a pity both for potential US buyers and for European sellers.
I'm afraid the price is firm, it is a rare pair (as explained above), in excellent condition and I am not necessarily looking for a quick sale.
Anyway, this is not a discussion forum ( THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION FORUM ), so please be so kind as to use PMs for any other questions.

I have received questions about the condition of these phones.
They are a very well taken care of pair. They have always "lived" in a non-smoking, no pets environment. The only thing that shows that they are not new is the small leather pads who shom signs of use (but I would say less than in my pics, because the pics were taken with a flash - those familiar with photography know what I mean).
Otherwise the condition is perfect and, of course, they function perfectly as well.
As for the difference between newer and older K1000 (like this one), I was a non-believer as well - until the moment when I was able to listen to an older one. Then I had to get an older one (in fact I got two of them!). The low series numbered AKG K 1000 are simply better in every respect as the newer ones. Because they have all what newer ones have, plus better bass.
Of course, more pics are available upon request.
