The sound signature is crisp and detailed. I know some would question my judgement but I find these ICs definitely benefit from use - regular use provides a full, rich, detailed sound; long periods without use (e.g. a week or more) can lead to their initial sound being a bit harsh, with digital 'sizzle'. But that settles after an hour or so back in use.
