Autumn flower at local temple

Autumn has come and now we have autumn flowers. I don't know the English name of this flower. We call this flower as Higanbana - Autumn Equinox flower. That blooms around autumn equinox day.
Red one is common but I especially like white one that has purity and elegance.

I went to take photos to local temple. I used soft lens to capture this beauty.

Flight of team Blue Impulse

I went to see a magnificent aerobatics flight by Japan air defense force aerobatics team BLUE IMPULSE. Equivalent to USN Blue Angels or USAF Thunder birds.

Here are some photo of the incredible flights.
The planes are Japanese training aircraft T4 "dolphin".

Horse back archery - Mishima 2009

I took a short vacation and take a trip to Mishima-city located almost two hours from Tokyo.
My main object was to take Yabusame photos. Yabusame is a traditional horse back archery martial arts. The day was hot but I was managed to find a good location to hide from hard sun light. In addition I got a good photo effect that the sunbeams streaming through leaves.

Rainy season and hydrangea

Contrary to nice April, June is our worst season as this is the rainy season. We have rain most of the time. Today is no exception.
However, we can find a silver lining in this worst time. That's Ajisai(hydrangea) flowers.

We had a long holiday that is called golden week at the first week of May.
Japanese people are often described as work bees but this period of time is different.
I am no exception. I charge iPhone battery twice a day but I rarely charge my own one.

Spring flowers and the horse back archery

Still cold, but our climate getting warmer day by day.

I was at ume flower festival today, ume flower is a spring flower similar to western apricot or plum. Even snow capped Fuji mountain can be seen from here, but unfortunately we did not have good weather.

Horse back archery - Mishima

I went to see Yabusame horse back archery at Mishima shrine. Mishima is located almost one hour west of Tokyo.
We are experiencing a very very hot summer in these days, but this Sunday was heavy cloudy. That condition was comfortable to see the event but difficult for take moving subjects as an exposure is severe.
Camera is EOS-1Ds MkII, EF24-105/4 IS. I used ISO800 but even though I use high ISO, I was forced to use wide open aperture.
