I have spent the past two evenings sipping wine with my new HD800's on my head. It has been two wonderful evenings! These headphones are like a dream come true for me so far. The summary is "I really like them". However, please continue reading if you want more detailed impressions.
For my initial listening sessions, I chose the following music:
Radiohead - The Best Of
U2 - No Line On The Horizon
Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral Deluxe Edition...

The HD800's are better. Yeah, I know that's a pretty controversial position. I'll back it up though. The HD800's are more detailed, cleaner, and have a deeper bass.
This statement has been gnawing at me for a month. I ordered a pair of Grado GS1000i's after our October meet,...

Sharps is a latest addition to the Jaben GoVibe inventory. I've got one as a demo and here is my impression.
I guess the names of Govibe amp were taken from guns. For example PPK, Derringer and Magnum. The name of the Sharps must to be taken from Sharps lifle in the 19C that was designed by Cristian Sharps. Though the name was taken from individual surname, I felt this amp sounded very "sharp"...

An interesting thread from 2007 was bumped on this very subject.
Short answer seems to be: Stax in 1960 with the SRA-4S, as electrostats require a special amp:
but for dynamic phones, excluding pro gear with headphone outs, probably the Sure Solo-phone.
After that, Grado designed the HP-1 for the HP-1000s just before HeadRoom...

I wrote this up for a thread about Bose and thought it worth saving.
I figured out how many headphone manufacturers get away with selling low-end and lower-quality headphones, especially in the case of Bose and Monster, who do so at higher prices: Most cheap or rubbish headphones are seriously rolled off in the treble and 2-10k region that, if it weren't so, would reveal the shortcomings of the design, as that's where a lot of critical vocals are, and where women especially are most...
