Sennheiser VMX100: My new favorite Bluetooth earpiece....

Posted 09-25-2007 at 03:41 AM by jude

....and it's made by a Head-Fi.org Sponsor no less.

I've tried a lot of Bluetooth earpieces, and have found no luck with the small and super-small ones. (I haven't yet tried the much-loved Aliph Jawbone.) In addition, I've found I like the more visible earpieces, as it makes it more obvious to those around me that I'm talking on the phone.

Until the VMX100 arrived, the earpiece I've come to count on is what could now be called a somewhat old standard in the Plantronics Voyager 510, which had the best sound quality (according to the people I've tested earpieces with) versus all the others I tried before it.

But when I saw that Sennheiser was coming out with the VMX100, I knew I had to give that a go, adding to the list of models I've tried from Jabra, Plantronics, Motorola, and Samsung. And, yes, this Sennheiser VMX100 will be replacing my trusty Plantronics Voyager 510. In addition to being the coolest looking Bluetooth earpiece I've yet seen (in my opinion), it has very nice functionality, ease of use, comfort and very good sound quality (from both sides, with the ability to be turned up particularly loud on the user's side).

I'll write a mini-review of the Sennheiser VMX100 Bluetooth earpiece in Gear-Fi soon.
