It has been a long time since I've made a blog entry, but I had such a nice, interesting weekend (the weekend before last), that I thought I'd blog about it.

First of all, Jack Roush Jr. had a great day in his Grand Am Cup race at Barber Motorsports Park yesterday. (Jack is one of my best friends, a business partner, and like a brother to me). Victor will launch world's first "top mount driver" IEM

Today Japan Victor announced their new "top(tip) mount driver" IEM HP-FXC50 to be launched around the early August.
Here is a press release (Japanese).
The picture gives a cleaner idea about the product.

Ordinal IEM has a driver in the housing(shell), however, the new victor IEM has a driver at its tip. They claim it improve sound quality.

HP-FXC50 will sell around 4000 yen and the colors are black/red/silver.

I'm looking for feedback from hifiers about which of these systems is preferable in terms of sound, price, reliabilty, etc:

Pro-Ject 1 Xpression III Comfort with a preamp-project phonbox mark2

OR

AR XA with a Rega arm with , Bellari VP129 - Tube Phono Preamplifier

I listen to music differently now, or at least I'm trying to.

I've recently became addicted to head-fi, which consequently made me become addicted to headphones. Lately I have been listening to my music and movies at volumes that were really too high, I thought if I turned up the volume I could hear more detail in the sounds, but obviously there was a side effect, loss of hearing.

I now get this feeling that my hearing is impaired. The way I describe it as if you just read a series of books very fast or a night of intense gaming, of course...
