Based on your listening preferences, I'd say the 880 '05 should be off your list. I found the bass to be accurate but there was no thump. I listen to mainly hip hop/electronic and I found the 880s to be analytical and not much "fun" to listen to when compared to my 770s.
Not saying the 880s are bad (they revealed instrument and vocal subtleties in songs that I never knew were there) I just don't think they'll work for you.
