It's a way of life for me, my Zen Xtra and Etys. On several bassy headphones I've found I could just never eq them to get the detail I wanted whereas I can get really close to the bass I want on the Etys that way and they retain the detail.

However, I have not tried the Atrios so I can't judge them....
