crappyjones123 it was a real pleasure to exchange some ideas with you, and to talk a little bit. And it is true, there is no way you can test an equipment with other person musical preference, you have to bring what you like and period...sounds good or bad, that is what you like. Remember Metallica Saint Anger, that was not the best of the recordings to try equipment, but that is what you like, so for you is completelly irrelevant how good Diana Krall will sound (unless in front of you, and with some clothes off, of course) in that setup...
In my case I always target tow or three items that I will audition, and trust me that for more that i try, there is always surprises...I had three clear ones, Denon, AD2000 and JVC woodie, among those the JVC is still pending, but I got into IEM's and trust me that I never expected that...

Neutrality, accuracy? OK, just ask yourself first: Do you know for sure how the recording is supposed to sound? So for me euphony is all about!!! Please do yourself a favor, stop listening your gear, and begin to feel the music instead!!!
