What do you mean cabinet? As in put it in its own box and basically only have 2 openings, 1 in the front for where the actual speaker sticks out, and at the back for the wires?

And you mean put the sub facing the front? The box is came from had the cone and the sub in the same spots, so I assume it wounds best like that.

ALSO - what is the best type of wood to use? Does thickness affect anything?
