CJ , I have not built it but I would accept that the changes made were an improvement over the original.
I don't know about pcb's, however this amp should be fairly staright forward to build PTP ( assuming you have experience working with high voltages and tubes? ) ..dB
edit ..... just noticed that you already have the earmax pro ! why not build an amp that uses a different topology?
