The problem is that the headphone ports on many portable players have hiss. When you have something that gives this much detail and resolution, you notice it! If the headphone is very clean - there would be no problem. They don't require alot of power, just a clean signal. One way to get rid of it would be to buy and resistance adapter or an attenuator.
