Yes, that is way too loud. Back then I was using an AV710 with the Headfive. Shame to think I sold it because I had the volume on my PC turned down. Don't think that was likely though since I'd been long familiar with its operation. I heard no complaint from the Head-Fier who bought my Headfive so it must have worked OK. But I do recall reading others with the Headfive who did not consider it a particularly loud amp.
