You might be right about the Sony/Image combo, but I was comparing the Sony/Image combo to my previous 4G iPod/Image combo, and the Sony combo sounds a lot better (boomy bass or not) then my iPod combo (which had practically no bass when compared to the Sony). I will try the Sony with my Denons when I get home.
Also, I have never owned a Zune, so can't comment on that.
