I know I promised to post impressions yesterday, but I got so caught up in the music I completely forgot posting (no exaggeration, seriously).
I didn't believe in love at first sight until I opened up my W5000 case. The red fabric contrasted the black sleeving so perfectly...
So I plugged those babies into my amp, and first played Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick. As soon as I heard the opening guitar riff and the lyrics kicked in, I could hear a difference. Alex's v3 cable improved on all the W5000 characteristics, smooth/involving midrange, slight treble sparkle, great 3D soundstage, etc. but fortunately did not take away from the sound. Beyond describing the lows/mids/highs, the recable made the music more "real." It SOUNDS like music. It's realistic, an aspect I think many headphone manufacturers/designers oversee.
I've been listening to the W5000's any chance I get; every CD I play sounds so beautiful and involving. Past cables I've owned had their pros AND cons, but the v3 cable simply has only pros. I can't complain about anything, even if I'm being nit-picky.
I know who I'm coming back to for my future recables/interconnects...
On a sidenote, I'm loving the black sleeving and APureSound logo heatshrink.
