Hey Izzy,
The way this works is that you have your 5th gen iMod, and you take any iPod line out dock to mini cable (with the L/R/Gnd pins enabled) to connect the iMod to the V-Cap Dock. Then, you'll need another cable, such as a mini to mini, to connect your V-Cap Dock to any amplifier with a mini input. Alternatively, you can use the RCA outputs to output to an amplifier with RCA inputs, or you can mix and match RCA-to-mini and vice versa, and it should still work fine.
As I understand it, the V-Cap dock includes an iPod Line Out Dock to Mini cable, so the only other cable you'd need to supply is the output from the V-Cap Dock.
It is important to note that you do NOT use an IMOD Line out dock cable here, with the built in black gate caps inside. I don't know if this is harmful but it is certainly redundant. Instead, the V-cap dock houses the capacitors, so basically you just need a "wire" from the iMod to the caps.
Looks great, Ken!
