Great Review.... I'm waiting for this review for a long time... thanks. So based on your comparation, I don't think will spend another 100$ on PK1 as I hear a lot of instrument.....
Anyway just to share, I own EC7 and thinking of PK1 as an upgrade since I feel that EC7 lack in bass department... ,and for low volume listening, I have to eq'ed the bass. I have burn it with pink noise, and song around 150hrs and find very subtle difference in bass. So I live with that (feel abit dissapointed as I have to choose the song to play with) until yesterday which should reach at least 300-400 hrs ... I listen through my cdp, a speaker test music with quite high vol, more than I used to be (not more than the vol you'll listen in a bar or night club though) put it off, chat with friend while the music still on and completely forget about it.
The next morning, I found that the music still played, and I'm back listening to "regressa mi" from il divo... I'm surprise... The bass improved quite a lot. Listening back to my ipod, I feel no need to eq'ed anymore. It is not overwhelming bass for sure, but it shows some kind of subwooverish bass effect...
I thought that it was fitting problem, but until now, I still believe that the bass has improve noticably.... everytime I heard, the bass that I'm looking for is there... a deep bass.... So I don't know if this will work with A8 or not...
