Bear in mid that ER-4 is the flagship IEM for ETYMOTIC for year, well over 10 years. Of course the ER-4 armature drivers will carry the most stringent specs compared to drivers that they "rented" out to their partner like Altec Lansing and Harman Kardon.
Precisely I dont know what makes ER-4 armature drivers different from iM716 - the specs are not known to me
