Thanks for the opinions -- and congratulations on your new earphones. If Comply foams fit the ER4's, you might try those -- the short Comply's made my ER6i's very comfortable and easy to insert and take out.

I've moved only as far up as the ER6i's in the IEM 'food chain," but I would add to your comment that the Ety's sound thin on your 80's music -- I find that on non-"hot" or non-saturated recordings (i.e., most non-remastered music from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's), my Etys can sound relatively thin. But for the ER6i's and probably for the ER4's, "modern" recordings should sound quite "full" on Etymotics products.
