Ha!!! Great minds think alike..I was just wondering about where this thread had got to...I got the latest Global Rhythm in the mail the other day and the free cd had a track by a Ugandan artist called Samite. At first I thought it was Geoffrey Oryema as they sound so alike..must be something to do with the type of music coming out of that part of Africa. Not much else jumped out at me though...
I also have Live8 for Africa on DVD and Geoffrey sings a couple of tracks. On Land of Anaka he duets with Peter Gabriel who does say 'It's been a while Geoffrey, but I'll do my best' or words to that effect. Great stuff anyway.
Anyway just thought I'd throw in my 2c...Been on a dub kick lately, though might be coming out of it with lots of help from La Bottine...
